HOLYOKE:  Barbara A. Chartier, age 73, of Holyoke passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2107 at Holyoke Healthcare.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Normand) Bigelow and was a graduate of Holyoke High School.  Barbara worked for Holyoke Medical Center for over 25 years.  She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Pratt and her husband Glenn of Holyoke; a  son, George Chartier and his wife Venus of Holyoke; two grandchildren, Madelyn and Grace Chartier; three great grandchildren, Mya, Finnley, Gracie; two sisters, June O’Connor of South Hadley and Patricia Pollins of GA as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by a grandson, Zachary Pratt and a brother, Thomas Bigelow.  A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Barbara to Valley Health Systems Speech and Hearing Department, 20 Hospital Drive, Holyoke, MA 01040.
