Cindy (Alderson) Fontaine, 60, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, June 5, 2017.   She was born in Springfield on February 6, 1957 and grew up in West Springfield before moving to Holyoke. The things that Cindy loved most were spending time with her loving family and friends, reading, and spending countless hours in her garden. She was an excellent artist and it showed in her passion of making homemade greeting cards.   Cindy will be sadly missed by her children John, Jr. and Sarah Fontaine of Holyoke; her parents Raymond and Stella Yvon; her sister Lynn Yvon; her brother Ronald Yvon and sister-in-law Lisa, all of West Springfield; her niece Chelsea Yvon of Chicopee; her nephew Nicholas Yvon of West Springfield; many aunts, uncles and cousins; her dear friends Bill Hayward and Solianna Hayward of Holyoke who loved her “Auntie Cindy”; Taylor Hunt of Holyoke; her dear friends Kim, Todd, and Taylor Greenwood of Holyoke; and the many dear friends and extended family who Cindy adored.  She was predeceased by her sister Laurie Yvon in 1965.  She was known as “Mom” to many of her children’s friends and would always take the time to listen and get to know all of them. Calling hours are Monday, June 12, 2017 at Barry Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA from 4:00 -7:00 PM.  Burial will be private.
