HOLYOKE:  Claire T.  (Drapeau) Lariviere, age 83, a lifelong resident of Holyoke, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Mary’s Meadow in Holyoke. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Alfred and Aurore (Fortier) Drapeau and was a graduate of the former Holy Rosary High School. Claire was a devoted homemaker to her six children, she enjoyed spending time at the Holyoke Senior Center and was a member of the LARA Committee at Loomis House.  She is survived by five children, Michael Lariviere of Holyoke, Cheryl Oleksiak and her husband John, Linda Lariviere and Debra Higgins, all of Ludlow, and Christine Lariviere of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; 9 beloved grandchildren whom she adored;  her siblings, Jeanne Fournier and her husband Ronald, Marie Flynn, Gerard Drapeau, Robert Drapeau and his wife Arlene, Roland Drapeau; her sisters-in-law, Beverly Drapeau, Barbara Drapeau and Marlene Lariviere as well as several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Claire was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Arthur “Art” Lariviere, Jr. on April 1, 2011; a son, Arthur Lariviere III, a grandson, Benjamin Lariviere, her siblings, Gertrude Dupont, Marguerite Kranichuk, Roger, Normand, Donald, and Alfred Drapeau.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kevin Snow, Dr. Nirav Sheth, Holyoke Medical Center ER and 4th Floor Staff, Loomis House of Holyoke, where she lived, and Mary’s Meadow for the loving care and compassion shown to Claire. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Claire’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be held at a later date.  There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Claire to Loomis House LARA Fund, 298 Jarvis Avenue, Holyoke, MA 01040 or Mary’s Meadow, 12 Gamelin Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
