Claire T. (McMahon) Maki, age 85, of Easthampton, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Nora (Leary) McMahon, was educated in the Holyoke schools, and graduated from Westfield State College. Claire was a former elementary school teacher, and had lived in Easthampton for many years. She was the widow of Donald W. Maki, who died on August 15, 2006. Claire is survived by two sons: Marc Maki and his wife Suzanne of South Windsor CT, and Neil Maki of Easthampton; four grandchildren: Nathan, Emily, Kevin, and Jena; and a brother Thomas McMahon of Holyoke. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary McMahon in 1990. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 16^th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery in Chester MA. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
