LANTANA, FL:  Donald L. Golon, age 91, of Lantana, FL, formerly of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.  He was born and educated in Springfield, son of the late Adam and Agnes (Mikula) Golon. Donald was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.  He was a graduate of Western New England College and had retired from United Technologies where he was a longtime Engineer.  Donald enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, running, karaoke, and ballroom dancing.  He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma (Hale) Golon on October 22, 2000. Donald is survived by five daughters, Susan Fontaine, Linda Fisher, Diane Leo, Laurie Hannon and Sara Gladu; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother, Edward Golon.  Besides his parents and wife, Donald was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Golon.  A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Donald to Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield MA 01199.
