Donna M. Camilleri, 72, of Holyoke passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Holyoke Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Holyoke on October 9, 1945, Donna was the daughter of the late Francis and Veronica (Burke) Presto. Donna attended Holyoke schools and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1963. Following graduation, Donna worked as a hair stylist and married her late husband Richard, with whom she enjoyed 49 years of marriage. In later years, Donna also worked at Holyoke Community College and the Holyoke Public school system, where she retired from in 2010. Donna was predeceased by her husband Richard, her sister Joan (Presto) Plasse and her brother Francis Presto. Donna is survived by her three children, Laura Garrant and her husband John of Holyoke, Christine MacLean and her husband Steven of Clinton, and Matthew Camilleri and his wife Patty of Boston. She is also survived by her brother John Presto and his wife Susan of Chicopee, and her sister Elizabeth Boissonnault of Holyoke. Donna also leaves behind her three cherished grandchildren, Grace Garrant of Holyoke and Vincent and Josephine Camilleri of Boston, all of whom brought her the utmost joy and happiness and were her pride and joy. In addition to spending time with her family, Donna enjoyed a very active social life and loved nothing more than spending her summers at Hampton Beach as well as a good card game. The family would like to thank Donna’s most cherished friends, Ruth and Billy Allyn, Shawn Allyn, Ed Borgatti, Richard Shattuck, Joanne Roy and Kathy Higgins, all of whom brought her much love, happiness and laughter, especially in her final days. The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the Holyoke Medical Center ICU, whose kindness and compassion made Donna’s final days comfortable and peaceful. Donna’s funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass in St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 169 Hampden St. Holyoke, MA at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Jerome’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 8:00 to 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her memory be made in Donna’s name to the American Lung Association, 55 W.
