SOUTH HADLEY:  E. Leonard (Len, Lennie) Onufer, (July 11, 2017), beloved husband of 61 years to Loretta H. (Lorinc) Onufer; dearest father of Warren J. (Jeff) Onufer and Rebecca D. (Becca) Norris of Springfield Mass. Grandfather of Jessica R. (Jesse Rae) Norris and Justin S. (Jay) Norris of Springfield, MA. Brother of Cecelia A. (Dolly) Downs of Pittsburgh, PA; Donald W. Onufer of Gainsville, FL; and Barry R. Onufer of Endicott, NY.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, he graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology and served in the United States Corps of Engineers in the Korean conflict.  After completing graduate studies at Harvard, he enjoyed a career in industrial management with General Electric Co. and Worthington Compressor.  Funeral was private with burial in Veteran’s Cemetery in Agawam, MA. The family would like to thank Holyoke Health Care Center for the individualized, compassionate and overall quality care they provided to Len in his final days.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
