HOLYOKE

Edward G. Daytel, age 96, of Holyoke, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.  He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Albert and Mary (Pusek) Daytel and was educated in the Holyoke Schools. Ed was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and was a 25-year employee of General Electric Company working in Holyoke, Pittsfield and Springfield, retiring in 1984. He was a communicant of St. Jerome Church and a member of the Slovak’s World Organization. Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Daytel and Ann Stefanowicz and a brother, John F. Daytel. He leaves several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with United States Army Honors will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke. There are no calling hours. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
