Elaine C. (Allair) Rivard

HOLYOKE

Elaine C. (Allair) Rivard, age 76, of Holyoke, died January 29, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Elaine was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Napoleon W. and Doris R. (Healy) Allair, and was a 1959 graduate of Holyoke High School. She worked for New England Telephone for over 32 years as a Facility Assignor, retiring in 1995. She also worked in the Cash Office of B.J.’s Wholesale Club since 1987 and the Holyoke Police Department as a clerk until her retirement in 2007. Elaine was a member of the IBEW Local #24, a life member of the Telephone Pioneers, and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Rivard in 2016. She is survived by a son James T. Rivard and his wife Sharon of Holyoke; daughter Brenda M. Larose and her husband Rick of Enfield, CT; seven grandchildren: James and Jonathan Rivera; Nicole, Joshua, and Colin Rivard; and Leo and Katie Larose; one great-grandchild Dean Rivera; and her sister, Doris “Judy” Carriveau and her husband Leonard of Granby. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, with Mass at 10:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be held at Betheny Cemetery in Monson on a later date at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones’ choice.
