Elizabeth S. “Betty” Hebert, age 104, of Holyoke, died on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Mont Marie Health Care Center.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Adolf and Christine (Miller) Schmidt and was a 1930 graduate of Holyoke High School.  Betty worked for Ray Ashley Insurance in Holyoke, Cooperage Barrel Company in Willimansett, and was the Secretary at Holyoke Supply Company for 49 years, retiring at age 80.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she belonged to their choir and altar guild.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Romeo “Coach” Hebert in 1967 and three brothers, Andrew, Walter and Adolph.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:00 am in First Lutheran Church, 1810 Northampton Street, followed by burial in Forestdale Cemetery.  There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Betty to First Lutheran Church, 1810 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
