HOLYOKE
Grace E. (Marshall) Rainville Gray, age 90, of Agawam, formerly of Holyoke, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Northampton, daughter of the late John and Melvina Marshall and graduated from the former Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Holyoke. Grace worked on the Delivery Floor of Providence Hospital in Holyoke for most of her career as an R.N., and she absolutely loved babies. She spent many years as a scout leader. Grace was a very active member of Second Baptist Church in South Hadley, with the Camping and Outdoor Show (Pioneer Valley, Chapter 8), and a variety of senior Citizen and Golden Age groups around the greater Holyoke area. There are many people’s lives that Grace touched, and she will be long remembered. She was the widow of Richard Gray who predeceased her in 2000. Grace is survived by six children: Douglas L. Rainville of Needham, Nancy M. Caplette of Agawam, Betsy E. Gunn of Niceville FL, Susan Leduc of Springfield, Scott M. Rainville of West Springfield, and a step-son Richard Gray of West Springfield; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, a sister Virginia L. Marshall of Perry Point MD; a lifelong friend Jean Rainville, and close friend Phyllis Parlenges. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be private. A calling hour will be held Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
