Henry P. Dziok, age 91, died Tuesday October 24, 2017 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. Henry was born in Holyoke, son of the late Stanley and Sophie (Kalisz) Dziok, and attended Holyoke schools. Henry was a veteran of the United States Army, and a firefighter on the Holyoke Fire Department for thirty years until his retirement in 1991. He was a parishioner of the former Mater Dolorosa Parish. Henry served on the Board of Directors for the Polish Center of Discovery & Learning, and Pulaski Heights in Holyoke, and was the 2015 recipient of the Polish American Heritage Achievement Award. He served as Vice President of the Holyoke Fire Department Local #1693, and was a member of the American Legion Post #351. Henry was the widower of Stasia H. (Walczak) Dziok who passed away on September 28, 2012. He is survived by two sons: Thomas and his wife Kristina of Southampton, and William and his wife Carol of Southampton; three grandchildren: Dr. Catherine Cleland and her husband Jesse, Matthew Dziok, and Anna Dziok; a great-grandchild, Brody Cleland; his sister, Helen Hurley of Leeds, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 31st at 8:30 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be held at 11:00am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The family asks to please omit flowers.
