CHICOPEE: Henry A. “Hank” Gavron, 79, of Chicopee, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Edward and Irene (Archambault) Gavron and was a graduate of Holyoke High School and Northeastern University, where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. Hank worked as a Quality Control Engineer for Hamilton Standard, retiring after many years. Upon his retirement Hank started the H.G. Golf Sales Company which manufactured custom golf clubs. He was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. Hank was an avid golfer and served as President for many years for the Turners Golf League. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Dowling) Gavron; two sons, Steven of Newington, CT, John of Chicopee; a daughter, Debra “Debbie” Asselin and her husband Todd of South Hadley; his granddaughters, Haley and Ava who he was proud “Pop Pop” to and whom he adored, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Hank was predeceased by his brother, Edward Gavron. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 56 Saint Anthony Street, Chicopee. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
