HOLYOKE:  Henry F. Wall, 96, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2017 at Mary’s Meadow, Holyoke, MA, surrounded by his family and dear friend, Sr. Margaret McCleary, S.P. Born to the late Katherine M. and Michael J. Wall on March 2, 1921, Henry grew up in Boston, MA with his late brothers, James W. Wall and Thomas C. Wall and his late sisters Marion E. Wall and Katherine I. Bairstow.  He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Barbara A. (Leary) Wall.  He is survived by his son, James and his wife Susan and their children Maggie and Michael; his daughter Susan and her husband Dr. John Schneeweis and their children Mary Kate and Jack; his daughter Kate and her daughter Breda Paton;  his sister-in-law, Ellen M. Leary and his brothers-in-law, John and Edward Leary. Henry served in the US Navy during World War II.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science Degree and began his career with the General Electric Corporation.  He joined the firm of Lybrand, Ross Brothers and Montgomery (now PWC) and became a Certified Public Accountant.  He served in the accounting and finance functions of a number of industries including banking, manufacturing and retail and retired in 1983.  He was a volunteer for many years for organizations including the Children’s Museum of Holyoke, the Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program, and the Money Management Program for Low-Income Elderly. Calling hours are from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke MA.  A Memorial Mass will be said at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, Providence Place, 5 Gamelin St., Holyoke on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.  Family and friends are requested to gather directly at Providence Place.  Burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Ministries for the Needy, 40 Brightside Drive, Holyoke, MA 01040.  The family wishes to thank the Sisters of Providence, Mercy Health Systems, the staff and residents of Providence Place where Henry made his home for 17 years and the staff of Mary’s Meadow for their friendship, loving care and support during his senior years and in his final days.
