Jane D. (Szalkucki) Sullivan, age 94, of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday December 3, 2017 in the comfort and care of her family. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Bruno and Stella (Brovarak) Szalkucki, and was a 1941 graduate of Holyoke High School. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, where she sang in the church choir for many years. Jane enjoyed Bingo and spending time with her family. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Jane” to many of her grandchildren’s friends. Her husband George E. Sullivan, who founded and owned William F. Sullivan & Co. with his late brother William, passed away in 1998. She is survived by one son, Daniel G. Sullivan and his wife Leeann of West Springfield; three beloved grandchildren: Ashley Sullivan, Andrew Sullivan and his wife Amanda, and Zachary Sullivan; two sisters-in-law: Balbina Szalkucki of Holyoke, and Jeannine Sullivan of West Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by three brothers: Frank B., Bruno F., and John T. Szalkucki, and a sister, Cecelia Szalkucki. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:15am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass at Our Lady of the Cross Church, 23 Sycamore Street, at 11:00am. Burial will be held St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior at the funeral home from 9:00 to 10:00am.
