CHICOPEE: Joyce D. (Marier) Peetz, age 83, of Chicopee, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at her home after a short illness.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Richard and Estelle (Domurat) Marier and was a graduate of Holyoke High School.  Joyce was a Bookkeeper and Corporate Officer at Epstein Furniture Company in Holyoke for 56 years, retiring in 2014.  She was a communicant of St. Patrick Parish in South Hadley and was a member of the St. Patrick’s Church Choir. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Peetz in 2007.  She is survived by a son, Kevin C. Peetz of Natick, a daughter, Melanie S. Peetz of West Springfield, Music Director at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield and one brother, Bruce Marier and his wife Suzanne of VT.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22nd from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield. A music tribute will be held from 9:45 a.m. until the Mass begins at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke is handling the arrangements.
