HOLYOKE

Karin K. Smith, age 50, of Rowley, MA, formerly of Holyoke, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.  She was born and raised in Holyoke, a daughter of Patricia (Kingsley) Smith and the late Gary F. Smith.  Karin was a 1983 graduate of Holyoke High School and had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years.  Besides her mother, she is survived by a son Ryan Whisman and his wife Kayla of Salisbury, MA; a daughter Kayla Guilbeault of the Bronx, NY; her beloved grandson, Elvis Whisman of Salisbury, MA; two brothers, Gregory M. Smith and Gary P. Smith and a sister, Susan P. Smith all of Holyoke; two nephews, Nicholas Shenas and Jagger Smith of Holyoke and her very dear friends and caregivers, Mark Bahanas and Julie Jamgochian.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in memory of Karin to Boston Children’s Hospital, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
