GRANBY
Kimberly Florence Richards of Granby died peacefully on Monday evening at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Kim was born in Holyoke to Kenneth and Katherine (Moriarty) Richards on March 14, 1961. She attended Holyoke schools and was a graduate of Bay Path University in Springfield, MA with a Bachelor’s of Science; Magna Cum Laude. Kim had a great love of animals and enjoyed cooking, wood carving, stained glass, going fishing, camping, and riding her motorcycle and her great friendships. She had the best sense of humor which was amazing how she kept it through her fourteen year battle with breast cancer. She was a true inspiration to all in the face of such a life changing disease. Kim leaves her siblings and their families; she will be deeply missed by Karen (Richards) and John Gilboy, Kevin Richards and Carrie Lenard and Kevin’s son Kurt of New Salem, Keith Richards and his wife Julie (Pellerin) and their daughters Lauren, Michelle and Natalie, and Katherine (Richards) and William Simard and their children Alexandra and Robert of Belchertown. Kim also leaves many Moriarty’s in Massachusetts, Oregon, Washington, California, and New York and Richards’ in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Colorado. Final arrangements will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the amazing and loving team at Sr. Mary Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital or to the animal shelter of your choice or American Breast Cancer Foundation.
