CHICOPEE
Krystyna Z. Trondowski, age 84, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 22 at Baystate Medical Center. Born on March 2nd, 1934 in Katowice, Poland, daughter of Karol and Emilia Mrozek, Krystyna spent much of her adult life in Krakow, Poland, before immigrating to the United States in 1977. She lived across Southern New England and retired in Florida. In 2014 she rejoined her family in Western Massachusetts. Throughout her life Krystyna enjoyed traveling and when she could no more, she encouraged her children and grandchildren to explore the world on her behalf. Witty, charming, and overflowing with love for her family and friends, Krystyna brought joy and laughter to every occasion. Very much a “tomboy” in her youth, she enjoyed hiking and playing sports, especially swimming. A lover of nature, children and animals, Krystyna supported numerous causes dedicated to improving the lives of those less fortunate, both two and four-legged. In Poland, Krystyna worked as a teacher and an accountant, as she always had a special way with numbers. An avid bridge player, she won her last grand slam on the day of her passing. Krystyna is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Janusz Trondowski; her daughter, Grazyna Dobrska and husband Przemyslaw Dobrski; son, Bogue Trondowski and wife Anna Zietek; her grandchildren, Beata Chovance, Elizabeth Dobrska and Lilu Trondowski; her great-grandson, Devin Chovance; nephew, Krzysztof Mrozek with family, and her best friend Zofia Trznadel. Her spirit will live forever in our hearts and in the many memories we shared with her. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 6 at 11am at Our Lady of the Cross Parish in Holyoke, followed by burial at the Bridge Street Cemetery in Northampton. Flowers may be sent to Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Krystyna’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the ASPCA.
