HOLYOKE

Louis E. Griot, 93, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully October 30, 2017 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. Louis was born in Holyoke, son of the late Louis E. and Mary (Shevlin) Griot, and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. After high school, Louis served in the United States Navy, Radioman 3^rd Class, during World War II. He went on to work as a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and after retiring worked at Holyoke Savings Bank. Louis was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of Holyoke Elks Lodge #902, and a member of Holyoke Country Club, playing weekly in the Wild Geese group. Louis was predeceased by his wife, Helen E. (Farrenhoff) Griot in 1996. He is survived by two daughters: Susan H. Griot and her husband Scott Kindness of Little Compton, RI; Jean Griot of Belmont, MA; two sons: Stephen M Griot and his wife Leslie of Westport, MA; and Jeffrey L. Griot of Newport, RI; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. All services are private. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
