CHICOPEE

Marie-Anne (Guertin) Quenneville of Kelley Road, Chicopee, MA born September 2, 1939 daughter of the late Herve and Delma (Rondeau) Guertin died at Holyoke Medical Center on Friday, January 19, 2018.  Marie-Anne was predeceased by her loving husband and soul mate, George J. on November 26, 2005 after more than 41 years of marriage.  A graduate of St. Anne Academy in Marlboro, MA she was a communicant and Ladies Guild member of St. Patrick Parish in South Hadley also serving as Eucharistic Minister.  She worked at the former Holyoke National Bank (now Bank of America). She was also employed in construction for 27 years finishing her working career as secretary at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church until it was destroyed by fire, but continued as Secretary of Notre Dame and Precious Blood Cemeteries, retiring in May of 2001.  Marie-Anne is survived by her very special Goddaughter, Theresa (Nolin) Rivers and her husband Mark, son Mark E and daughter Marie of Shutesbury, MA.  She is also survived by her cousins, Claudette (Robert) Nolin of South Hadley, Patricia (Hans) Stauffer of Beloit WI, Paul (Kathy) Duquette of Westfield, Francis (Constance) Rondeau of Chicopee and her Godson, Hans Stauffer and his family of Beavercreek, OH.  She was predeceased by her cousin Barbara Tuttle and very good friends Patricia Nault, Fr. Regis Giroux and Elaine Belliveau.   She is also survived by a sister-in-law Cecile (Quenneville) Counter, two nieces Geraldine Petrovsky, Gail Counter and a nephew Charles (Erin) Counter and family.  Moving to The Ridgewood Condo Community on 1/26/2006 she also leaves many friends at Ridgewood especially Mary Ann Mitchell, Dottie Sikes, Lucille Airoldi (now of Willimansett East Nursing Home) and Donna and Bruce Westcott.  Marie-Anne also leaves eight (8) special “Holyoke National Bank” friends, Eileen Gosselin, Bev Sigda,  Ellie Dooley, Dottie Saalfrank, Marge Sigda, Marlene Niesner, Barbara Raschilla and Charlene Sedlak who meet once a month, having worked together more than 60 years ago.  The Funeral will be held on Thursday January 25 at 8:45 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley.  Burial will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
