Marie Theresa Byrne 90, died at the Loomis House in Holyoke, MA on August 11th, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert N Byrne. She was born in Elizabeth NJ, daughter of the late William Geoghegan of Elizabeth NJ and Anna (Ryott) Geoghegan of Newcastle-On-Tyne, England. She lived in Wayland, MA for 32 years before moving to Acton, MA in 1998. Marie was a Sales Retail Associate at Jordan Marsh for over 15 years. She will be remembered for her love of family and travel. She was an excellent cook and loved to crochet and read. Her fondest memories were times with her immediate and extended family. All will remember her laughter, strength and kindness. She leaves behind her son Michael T Byrne of Monson MA, daughter Patricia A Byrne-Varcasia of Delmar NY and Jeannie M Byrne of Westfield MA. She was a loving grandmother to Mark Byrne, Robert Byrne, Matthew Byrne, Hayley Byrne, Nicholas Varcasia and Heather Varcasia. Marie was a great grandmother to Rowan Byrne and Aidan Shumasky. Siblings Margaret Maciejewski, Jane Burke and Honore Monroe. She was predeceased by a son, William J. Byrne, and her siblings: John Geoghegan, Richard Geoghegan, William Geoghegan and Anne Short. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 6:30pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Calling hours will be held prior to the service Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
