CHICOPEE:  Mark Steven Jubinville, 59, of Chicopee, MA, passed away at home April 18th surrounded by his loving family. Born to Joseph and Marcia (Riesen) Jubinville on August 5, 1957 in Holyoke, he graduated from Holyoke High in 1975 and continued on to honorably serve in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years. Shortly thereafter on May 31st, 1980, he married Lori, his brown-eyed girl and soulmate. Mark worked 25 years for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2008. Mark enjoyed tending his growing orchid collection, watching Patriots football, and spending the day barbequing on his smoker (dinner ready yet?). He loved the ocean and spent many summer days vacationing with Lori and his son, Joseph, in Wells, Maine. Over the last couple years, Mark (now “pop”) loved to spend time with his granddaughter, Lyla Hope; the two could be found many a morning smelling flowers in the garden and picking up acorns along the driveway. He was also a tireless advocate for his partner, Lori, and worked to bring awareness to Mitochondrial disease. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Lori (Mancini) Jubinville; his son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Michelle; granddaughter Lyla; mother Marcia; sisters JoAnne, Donna, Christine and Lisa, and countless nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Jubinville and brother Donald Jubinville. The funeral was held Monday, April 24, 2017 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. Holyoke, followed by Mass in St. Patrick Church, 30 Main St. South Hadley. Burial was at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam. Calling hours were held Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org) or MitoAction (www.mitoaction.org).
