CHICOPEE:  Mary C. (Cassidy) Houle, 92, of Chicopee, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late James J. and Nora (Coffey) Cassidy and was educated in the Holyoke schools. Mary was employed as a machine operator for over 40 years at Holyoke Paper Box Company, retiring in 2004. She had lived in Holyoke most of her life before moving to Chicopee in 1977.  Mary was the widow of Roland Houle, who died in 1968.  She is survived by six children; Roland Houle and his wife Victoria of Post Falls, ID, Leonard Houle of FL, James Houle and his wife Diane of Springfield, Rosemary Murphy and her husband Patrick of Longmeadow, Dennis Houle of Chicopee, and Patrick Houle of Boston, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two sisters, Helen Kennedy of South Hadley and Kathleen Belisle of Chicopee as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Robert Landerfin, a brother, James Cassidy, and a sister, Margaret Davis. The Funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Chapel of St. Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow at Ste. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to Alzheimer’s Association, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
