Roddy Cameron, 83, of Holyoke, died Thursday September 28, 2017 at Loomis House, surrounded by his family. Roddy was born in Holyoke, son of the late Robert and Agnes (Roddy) Cameron. He was a graduate of Holyoke High School, and received his B.A. and M.A. from Westfield State College. He was a school psychologist in the West Springfield school system for many years, retiring in 1998. Roddy also enjoyed his work at the Log Cabin Restaurant in Holyoke for 25 years. Roddy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rita (Fontaine) Cameron; his children: Cindy Joyce and her husband Marc, Bob Cameron and his wife Pat, Roddy Cameron and his wife Sue, Eddie Cameron, and Lisa Cameron; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brother Robert Cameron and his wife Carol, a sister Catherine McGrath, a sister-in-law Jeanne Sarkis of FL and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Home Service will be held Tuesday at 12 noon in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by burial in St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The family requests to please omit flowers.
