Rose Ann (Alexuk) Stepno, 94, of Holyoke, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Stephen and Eva (Nastin) Alexuk and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Rose was a longtime hostess at the former Roger Smith Hotel and also worked for the late Edna Williams at the Log Cabin Restaurant. She volunteered at Holyoke Hospital and was past President of the St. Agnes Ladies Guild. A lifelong resident of Holyoke, Rose was a longtime communicant of Mater Dolorosa Church. She was the widow of Clarence R. Stepno. She is survived by a son, Craig R. Stepno and his wife Beverly of West Roxbury, two grandchildren, Kelly and Eric and his wife Melissa, a sister-in-law Loraine, and many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by a daughter, Heidi EvaMarie Stepno MacClaren, a brother, Edward Alexuk and a sister, Josephine Chalmers. The Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rose to Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
