EASTHAMPTON-Charles (Charlie) L. Haller Jr, 80, of Easthampton, a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend was called home on Friday, June 1, 2018 after a brief illness. Son of the late Charles and Kathryn (Millane) Haller, he was a lifelong resident of Holyoke, graduating from Sacred Heart School and Western New England College. Charlie served in the 104th Fighter Wing Unit of the Air National Guard and was a long- time employee of the City of Holyoke Gas and Electric, retiring as Assistant Manager. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Elks Club. A communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke, Charlie was blessed with a gift of humor and those who came to know him experienced his three loves: life, laughter, and family. Married for fifty years to the late Maureen (McDonald) Haller, their retirement years were spent enjoying time with family and friends from Wells, ME to Englewood, FL. All who knew him fondly remember his wonderful sense of humor and generosity. Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by a sister, Liz Donais Haller. Charlie is survived by his son, James Haller of Cape Elizabeth, ME and his wife Catriona Shepherd; his son, Timothy Haller of Charlestown, MA and his wife Pamela; his daughter, Mary Kay Ravenola of Windsor Locks, CT and her husband Frank; his sister, Catherine Hamel of Holyoke, MA and her husband Richard; his sister, Joan Granger of Chicopee, MA and her husband Greg; his brother, David Haller of The Villages, FL and his wife Cheryl; his brother-in-law, Timothy Ross McDonald of Easthampton, MA and his wife Kathy; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Bonafilia of Holyoke, MA and her husband James; his companion, Jean Topolski of Holyoke, MA; seven adoring grandchildren; one loving great grandchild; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Liz Donais. He will be greatly missed by many lifelong friends. The family would like to thank St. Francis Hospital of Hartford, CT and their staff for their kindness shown to Charlie and the family during his brief illness. The funeral will be held Friday morning, June 8 at 9:00 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery.
