Claire B. (LaFond) Kennedy

HOLYOKE

Claire B. (LaFond) Kennedy, age 65, passed away October 4, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. She was born February 6, 1953 in Holyoke, daughter of the late Ernest LaFond Sr. and Mildred (Vallee) LaFond and attended Holyoke Catholic High School. She was preceded in death by the father of her children Robert H. Kennedy Jr., her brother Ernest LaFond Jr. and sisters Teresa Stuntz and Mary Pasternak. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Gloria Pueschel and her husband Thomas, and Mildred Ryclik and her husband Donald; her daughters Kathryn, Shannon, Kelly, and Claire Kennedy; her grandchildren Shane, Dorthy, Robert, Amanda, Cheyenne, Erin, Evan, Jake, Brittany, and Adam; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many many who considered her their ‘Mom’ and ‘Grandma’. Claire worked for HAPCO Auto Parts, Service Auto, and the Sportsman Café, all in Holyoke. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Green Bay Packers and hopes that both win championships this season. Claire loved to read and spend time with family and friends. She was fun to be around and loved a good joke. A Celebration of Claire’s Life will be held Saturday October 13 from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the American Legion Post 351, 50 Saint Kolbe Drive, Holyoke, MA.
