Daniel Thomas Mortimer

Daniel Thomas Mortimer, age 28, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 in Rochester NY, surrounded by his family, after a valiant three- year battle with brain cancer. He was born in Springfield, a son of Daniel S. and Myriam (Tourigny) Mortimer of Holyoke, was educated at Blessed Sacrament Elementary School in Holyoke, attended Holyoke Catholic High School, and graduated from Smith Academy in Hatfield. Dan graduated from the Kittredge Business School at Holyoke Community College and Eisenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. He was currently employed as an accountant for Insero Accounting in Rochester, NY. Danny was an avid basketball and football fan, especially the Boston Celtics and Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was always the life of the party. He had an infectious personality, and was everyone’s friend. Danny will be sorely missed. Besides his parents, Dan is survived by his brother, Corey P. Mortimer and his fiancé Victoria Blaho of Holyoke; his maternal grandparents, Andre and Huguette Tourigny of Holyoke;  an uncle, Thomas P. Mortimer Jr. of Chicopee, an aunt Diane Skwirz and Alisa James of  Rochester NY; cousins: Dave & Andrea Saquet of Hampden ME, Allison Skwirz of Rochester NY, Jason & Ashley Ramble of Spencerport NY, Alex & Ali Skwirz of Rochester NY, and Thomas P. Mortimer III of Ellsworth ME. Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial for Danny on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Friday, July 19th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
