David V. Erardi of West Bridgewater, MA, formerly of Milford, MA died Wednesday July 18, 2018 at home after a long illness. He was 75 years old. He is survived by his wife Mary Maloney. David was the son of the late Gladys Gilles and Charles Erardi. He was predeceased by his sisters Barbara Hoch, Jeanne Terry, and Joanne Erardi and brothers Phil Erardi and Glen Erardi. He is survived by brothers Charles Erardi of Dunedin, FL and Paul Erardi of Upton, MA. David was predeceased by a son, Dave Erardi. He is survived by his sons Jeff Erardi of Halifax, MA and Michael Erardi of NH, grandchildren Ryllie and Christopher, as well as many nieces and nephews. David worked for many years in the building trades as a mason, water proofer, and contractor. He was actively involved in the restoration of historic buildings in Boston. He was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Union Local #3. Dave was a member of the Hanna Club Football Team in Boston’s Park League for over a decade, which included their Championship season under Coach “Buster” Carline. He was an avid fan of all Boston professional sports teams. He grew up in Roxbury, MA and attended Boston Public Schools and Wentworth Institute. Throughout his life he was an avid reader of Roman history, British history, and U.S. history, particularly the American Civil War. He became very knowledgeable about the history of these nations and enjoyed sharing his knowledge during many interesting discussions with his family. A funeral service will be held Saturday July 21st at 10:30a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA followed by burial in St. Jerome Cemetery, Holyoke.
