David C. Vermette

HOLYOKE

David C. Vermette, 69, of Holyoke, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 13th 2018 following a long illness. Born December 24, 1949 in Holyoke, MA, David grew up in Ludlow, attending St John the Baptist Elementary School and Springfield MA Trade School. David is a Vietnam Veteran, honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after being awarded the Bronze Star Medal. David is predeceased by his parents, Ovila Joseph and Rosa Anita Vermette.  He is survived by his brother Felix (Joan) Vermette of Tucson, AZ, along with several nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. David’s brother Felix and friends Rich, Ken and Mike will meet David at the Crutch one day. The family expresses deep gratitude to the staff at Leeds VA Hospital, Holyoke Medical Center, Roxbury VA Hospital and Holyoke’s Renaissance Manor on Cabot for the care provided to David throughout the years. At the request of the deceased, there will be no calling hours or memorial service. Burial will be at Massachusetts State Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1390 Main St Agawam MA 01001 with military honors at 11:00 AM on June 18, 2018.
