HOLYOKE
Diane Fern Kingsley, 73, passed on August 2nd, 2019 at Holyoke Hospital after a long battle with heart failure. She went in the company of family and in the loving thoughts of those who could not be there with her. A brief memorial service will be held at the Barry J Farrell Funeral Home from 1 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, August 10th. Diane was born in West Springfield to Fern and Roy Binelli on September 16th, 1945. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1963. She met her devoted husband Joseph Kingsley in the summer of 1969 at American International College. After receiving her degree, she went on to pursue a career as a social worker and then later moved on to train others. She married Joseph Kingsley on November 6th, 1971 and together they adopted and raised two children, Shawn and Kathryn. Diane was defined by her infinite capacity to open her heart and home to anyone who needed it—both humans and of the furry variety. She took in any who needed a place to stay, and her desire to help others in need inspired those around her to do the same. She goes to join more adopted cats and dogs than can be named here. She was an unending source of love, compassion, and humor. She will be very dearly missed. In honor of her legacy of adoption we ask that instead of sending flowers that donations be made to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project via their website or by sending a check to 1124 East Mountain Road, Westfield MA, 01085.
