Dina M. Levesque

HOLYOKE:  Dina M. (Polverini) Levesque, age 103, of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Wingate of West Springfield.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Dominick and Anna (Tonucci) Polverini and attended Chicopee Schools.  Dina was a longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.  She was a member of the Holyoke Council on Aging and a talented artist.  Extremely proud of her Italian heritage, Dina made holidays and family gatherings special with her homemade macaroni, pizzelles, and penuche. Dina is survived by her two daughters, Carol E. Walsh and her husband John of Holyoke and Joyce A. Szewczynski and her husband Jan of Southampton; 7 grandchildren, Debra Whalen, Dennis Walsh, Daniel Walsh, Darren Walsh, Kevin Walsh, Michael Szewczynski and Dina Senecal, as well as 13 great grandchildren.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alcide H. Levesque in April,1984; her 4 brothers, William, Diamond, Henry and Leo Polverini and 3 sisters, Viola St. John, Edith Mulvihill and Elsie Dufault.  The Funeral will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at  9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dina's name to the charity of one’s choice.
