Dorothy E. (Williamson) Simard

HOLYOKE

Dorothy (Williamson) Simard, age 93 passed away peacefully October 31, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Holyoke. Born January 9, 1925 to D. Paul and Helen (Andrews) Williamson. She is predeceased by her brothers Daniel, Theodore, Albert and Arthur Williamson as well as her sister Irene Anderson.  She was married for 60 years to her late husband Leo W Simard (2011). She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Dorrie Simard (South Hadley), Leo Jr. (NYC) and William Simard (Belchertown).  Her eldest daughter Ann Flanagan predeceased her (2005). She also leaves her daughter-in-law Katherine Simard and sons-in-law William Flanagan and James Grosso, four grandchildren, Keira Ledoux, Taryn Nardelli, Alexandra and Robert Simard.  Five great grandchildren, Colin, Josh, Carly-Ann, Owen, Quinn and sister in law Mariel Williamson as well as many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was active in many clubs and organizations including; Junior League, St. Agnes Guild and was a past president of the Holyoke Creative Arts Center.  She was an avid golfer and belonged to Wyckoff and Holyoke Country Clubs.  She spent many winters in Myrtle Beach with husband Leo, were she scored one of her three holes in one.  The funeral will be held Monday November 5 at 10:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass in St. Patrick Chapel of St. Jerome Church at 10:30am. Burial is in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. A calling hour will be held Monday from 9:00 to 10:00am.
