Dorothy M. (Buzzee) Viamari

LONGMEADOW

Dorothy M. (Buzzee) Viamari, age 95 of Longmeadow and formerly of Chicopee, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at JGS Lifecare in Longmeadow. She was born in Northampton, daughter of the late Frank and Malvina (Hebert) Buzzee, and was a 1941 graduate of Northampton High School. Dorothy was employed as a Program Assistant at the Skinner Community Center for the City of Holyoke, retiring in 1993. She was the widow of George J. Viamari who died on March 9, 2009. Dorothy is survived by her beloved sons: George J. Viamari, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Longmeadow, and David N. Viamari and his wife Judith of West Springfield; four grandchildren: Michael Viamari and his wife Liliana, Laura Hoooten and her husband Seth, Stephen Viamari and his wife Katie, and David “Lou” Viamari; three great-grandchildren: Noah and Aiden Viamari, and Brooks Hooten, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Dorothy was predeceased by two brothers, Frank H. Buzzee, Jr. and Raymond L. Buzzee, and one sister Helen LaValle. The Viamari family would like to thank all the staff at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow for the wonderful care and attention given to Dorothy, especially Veronica, Dalila, Natalie, and Carmen. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for Dorothy’s Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 25 at 9:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 509 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow. Committal will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
