Edward F. Griffin, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday January 21, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 28, 1944 in Holyoke, son of the late Thomas Griffin and Catherine (Dean) Griffin. He was the last of his Brothers to pass (Thomas & John Griffin). He leaves his wife of 54 years, Louise (Salamon) Griffin, son Edward M. Griffin and Olga Griffin of Blackstone MA, Laura Elmer and significant other Bill LeMay of Westfield MA and Lisa Lemieux and Sylvain Lemieux of Chicopee MA; five grandchildren Bradley Griffin, Tyler Griffin, Danielle Lemieux, Rachelle Lemieux and Brandon Wood. Ed was a US Army veteran and Commander of Chicopee National Guard. He worked at Salamon’s Flooring of West Springfield, up until he retired. He was a Mason of the Mount Holyoke Lodge of South Hadley MA and 2013 Past Potentate of the Shriners Melha Temple of Springfield MA. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home at 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 9:30a.m. in Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Ave., Holyoke MA. Burial will be at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11:00a.m. Reception will follow at Shriners Melha Temple of Springfield, MA.
