Eileen I. (Brodeur) Bowen

Eileen I. (Brodeur) Bowen, age 68, of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 21st, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Ernest and Lucille (Colty) Brodeur, and was educated in local schools. Eileen was employed as a bartender for many years at several establishments in South Hadley, and worked most recently for 15 years as a real estate agent at Century 21 Real Estate in Westfield. She had lived in Westfield for the past 27 years, and prior to that, had resided in both Holyoke and Easthampton. Eileen was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at East Mountain Country Club in Westfield. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William D. “Bill” Bowen; their daughter, Karie-Ann Newsome and her fiancé, Jay Brunelle of Port St. Lucie, FL; five grandchildren: Jaimee Carriere, Nathan Carriere, Brittany Kuczenski, Bailey Bronner, Cody Stone Newsome; a great grandson, Jackson Grimsley; a daughter-in-law, Lori Newsome of Westfield; her cousin Ronald Holland and his husband Alan Joyner; a sister-in-law, Maxine Brodeur of Southampton; three brothers-in-law: Clifford “Kip” Bowen and his wife Leni, Douglas Bowen and his wife Anna, and Jamie Bowen and his wife Joan;  as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Eileen was predeceased by a son, Mark L. Newsome in February 2019, and a brother, Wayne A. Brodeur in 2008. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff in the Neurology Department at Baystate Medical Center for their compassionate care of Eileen. All services for Eileen are private and Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
