Eleanor M. Dooley

CHICOPEE:  Eleanor Marie “Ellie” (Dowd) Dooley, age 77, of Chicopee, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Henry C. and Rebecca M. (O’Connell) Dowd and was a 1959 graduate of Holyoke High School.  Ellie had lived in Chicopee since 1962 and was a retired bookkeeper for several area banks, including Holyoke National Bank and PeoplesBank in Holyoke and Third National Bank in Springfield.  She was the widow of Robert T. Dooley, who died in 2004.  Ellie is survived by two daughters, Lynn A. Trybus and her husband Matthew of Bondsville and Kim M. Small and her husband Carl of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren: Alyssa, Shannon, and Bethany Trybus and Jenna Small; one sister, Patricia A. Wilkinson and her husband Doug of Holyoke; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Dowd of Chicopee and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, Ellie was predeceased by a daughter, Dawn M. Dooley in 1962 and a brother, Henry P. Dowd in 1981.  The Funeral will be held on Friday, November 30th at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery, all in Holyoke.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contribution may be made in memory of Ellie to Jericho, P.O.
