HOLYOKE:  Eleanor Helen (Soja) Dumont, age 75, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday September 26, 2017 surrounded by her family. Eleanor was born in Ludlow, MA daughter of the late Theodore and Pauline (Kurtyka) Soja, and was a graduate of Commerce High School in Springfield. She worked as a Production Planner at Ampad Corporation in Holyoke, retiring in 2007. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Joseph Dumont, whom she married April 20, 1963; two sons, Alan Dumont and his wife Milissa, and Raymond Dumont and his wife Jennifer; two daughters, Michelle Robert and her husband Thomas, and Debra Dumont and her friend Dave Monko; seven grandchildren: Daniel, Nicholas, Kyle, Alyssa, Brielle, Tyler, and Nicole.  She also leaves behind her canine side kick Freddie.   She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Soja.  Eleanor loved family time, reading, going to the Casino and playing Cribbage on the porch with her husband.   She will be missed by all of her grandchildren who she worshipped some near and some from a far.  A special thank you to her Hospice Nurse Jamie and all of the staff at the Sister Caritas Cancer Center.  A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday October 3 at 11:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 8:30 to 10:30am at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to  Sister Caritas Cancer Center sent to: Mercy Fund Development, PO Box 9012, Springfield MA 01102-9012 in memory of her or made online at http://www.mercycares.com/ways-to-give.
