Eleanor M. (Dugroo) Ericson

HOLYOKE

Eleanor M. (Dugroo) Ericson, age 95, lifelong resident of Holyoke, passed into the Lord’s arms on Tuesday August 28, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Eleanor was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Edward and Elise (Hennemann) Dugroo and was educated in Holyoke schools. She worked various clerical and administrative jobs in the area throughout her career. Eleanor was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Holyoke. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert F. Ericson in December of 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Judith A. Hansmeyer and her husband Roy of Hallam, Nebraska and Karen M. Loescher and her husband Kenneth of Windsor, CT, six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Eleanor was predeceased by her siblings Herbert Dugroo of Virginia Beach, VA, Erene Tauscher of Panama City, FL, and Esther Wegman of South Hadley, MA. A funeral service will be held Tuesday September 4 at 10:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by burial in Forestdale Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 9:00 to 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Lutheran Church & School, 1810 Northampton Street, Holyoke MA 01040.
