Erlene M. (Currie) Ducharme, 92, died on January 25, 2018 at Loomis Nursing Center. She was born February 7, 1925 in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late William and Maria (Shanks) Currie. She graduated from Holyoke High School and lived in Holyoke most of her life. Erlene retired from United Paper Box. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Janice Barnett and husband Jeff of Marco Island, FL and Leslie Sullivan and husband Bill of Southampton. She also leaves four grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Mammie”. They are Ashley DiMauro, Courtney Engel, Kara Graves, and Lauren Sullivan Justice; and great grandchildren, Ally, Jaylyn, Brayden, Mackenzie and Raegan, along with Glenn Engel, father of Ashley and Courtney. She will also be missed by a sister-in-law, Mary Currie of Florence and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Ducharme, two sisters, Muriel Glynn and Olive Durocher and three brothers, James, Sidney and Warren Currie. The family would like to express their gratitude to Loomis House Nursing Center, especially, Tatyana, Debbie (Mon Amie) and Linda. Also, our deepest gratitude to Holyoke VNA Hospice Life Care for their excellent care and assistance and to the beautiful harpist, Barbara. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in Forestdale Cemetery.
