HOLYOKE
Eugenia Williamson, née Keough, beloved wife of the late Theodore Q. Williamson, passed away peacefully at Loomis House on October 10, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born in Holyoke to Edwin and Anna Keough. Eugenia attended Holyoke Public Schools and was graduated from Holyoke High School in 1941 and Westfield State College in 1945. She initially taught elementary school in Windsor Locks, CT and in Holyoke from 1964 to 1984. She loved her students and treated them with thoughtful guidance and strict boundaries as if they were her own children. After her career in education, she volunteered for a number of years at the Holyoke Hospital. Eugenia is survived by Theodore and Susan Williamson of Placida, FL, Laurelee and Walter Brown of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Paul and Kathryn Williamson of Malvern, PA, David and Gina Williamson of Colleyville, TX, Rosilind Drukker of Port Washington, NY, Margot and Kevin O’Connor of Scarborough, ME, Daniel and Wendy Williamson of Southwick, MA, her brother John Keough of Amherst, MA, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and hundreds of former students. Visitation hours will be at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA on Thursday October 18 from 4 until 7 PM. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Friday October 19 at 9 AM, and continue at Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Avenue at 10 AM, followed by internment at Forestdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Williamson family requests that any donations be directed to Connecticut Children’s Hospital in the name of Eugenia’s great grandson, the late Connor Albert.
