HOLYOKE
Gerald Francis Sulewski went to be with the Lord on September 7th 2018. Jerry was born in Holyoke on October 27th 1948 and was a Holyoke police officer for 32 years. Following his retirement, he worked for the Office of the Inspector General until he became ill. He leaves his devoted wife, Elizabeth; his brothers and sisters; Leonard “Butch” (Halina), Frank, Dorothy Zerek, Bernadette LeClerc, Rosemary Dutilly, Christine Sulewski, Roman (Phyllis), sister-in-law June, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Richard and Lou. Anyone who knew him knew he was a straight-shooter but had a gentle heart. He loved animals, fishing and gardening and had a sharp sense of humor that will be sorely missed. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. The family asks to please omit flowers, donations can be made in Jerry's name to Dakin Humane Society.
