Helen Swistro

Helen (Leschuck) Swistro, age 89, of Holyoke, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 after a brief hospitalization.  She was born in Springfield, daughter of the late Lavrenti and Akulina Leschuck.  Helen was a graduate of Commerce High School and was a member of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Orthodox Church in Springfield, MA.  She is survived by her husband Dominick J. Swistro; two daughters, Elizabeth Vitullo of Swansea and Christine Swistro of Chelsea, and one grandson, Conor Halpin.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Peter and Saint Paul Orthodox Church, 118 Carew Street, Springfield, MA. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 13, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MAB Community Services 200 Ivy Street, Brookline, MA 02446 or www.mabcommunity.org.
