Jacquelyn G. (Loudon) Simpson, 79, of Holyoke, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Daybrook Village in Holyoke. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Norman and Yvonne (Demers) Loudon and was educated at the former Sacred Heart School and Holyoke High School. Jackie worked for many years alongside her husband at the family owned business, Bob Simpson Signs. She enjoyed gardening and decorating her home, especially during the Christmas season. She also found pleasure in going to antique car shows with Bob and a large group of old car friends. Jackie is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 62 years, Robert W. Simpson; two daughters: Debora Skelton and her husband Harold Jr., and Nance MacDonald and her husband Robert; two grandsons: Harold and Christopher Skelton; a granddaughter Hope MacDonald, two great grandchildren, her loving dog Amos, and her tuxedo cat. She was predeceased by a grandson, David MacDonald, in 1997. The Simpson family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Loomis/Daybrook Village for the excellent, compassionate care they provided to Jackie over the past several months. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will be at a later date in Westhampton Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday Feb. 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Shriners Hospital, Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104 or to Christmas Box Angel Memorial Monument (Easthampton), c/o Nance MacDonald, 142 Laurel Hill Rd. Westhampton MA 01027 will be graciously accepted.
