HOLYOKE
James (Jim) M Greaney passed September 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 30, 1952 and was been a lifelong resident of Holyoke. Jim was a graduate of Holyoke High School ’72 and attended Holyoke Community College. He was predeceased by his parents, Doris (Hamel) and Wallace Jerome Greaney Sr. and two brothers Patrick and Barry. He leaves his devoted wife of 39 years, Kathleen Bachelor Greaney, a daughter Meghan, a brother Wally and his wife Cathy, and several nieces and nephews. Jim worked in manufacturing for a number of years at Spaulding, Gift Packaging Industries and Packaging Corporation of America. He had a passion for the theater arts and was an actor in local productions at Holyoke Community College and Smith College. He was an avid fisherman and spend many summers at the Cape. He enjoyed trips to the casino, classic westerns and playing cribbage with his brother Barry. For those who knew him, he had a unique sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 21st at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jericho, PO Box 1039, Holyoke MA 01041-1039.
