Jeanette M. Gutierrez, age 39, passed away peacefully Thursday December 28, 2017 after a long courageous illness. She was born in Newark, NJ, daughter of Rigoberto Gutierrez, Jr. and Ciria Lopez and Ramon Garcia, her second father. Jeanette worked as a C.N.A. in Amherst as well as a paraprofessional in the Holyoke Public Schools. She had a big heart and fought hard for her family. She loved life and cherished her family. Besides her parents, Jeanette leaves her husband Luis Gallego; daughter Jeniah Gallego; her sisters: Sylvia Garcia, Jennifer Gutierrez, and Chelsea Gutierrez; her brothers: Rigoberto Gutierrez III, Ramon Garcia and Roberto Gutierrez; she also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The funeral will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 9:30am with a short service at 10:30am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will be held in Forestdale Cemetery West, Rock Valley Road. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of Jeanette’s giving, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Hands That Help.
