Jesus Alberto Nieves, age 54, passed away April 10, 2019 in Springfield. He was born July 19, 1964 in Brooklyn, NY and raised in the Bronx, NY. Where to start? Jesus was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He was strong, passionate, and found all his joy at home surrounded by his family. Our father was protective, honest, and funny; even if he was the only one laughing. Jesus loved sports, maybe as much as his children. He was a hard worker, having worked at Hazen Paper for more than a decade, but always found time to bring his kids to the park. He will be loved and missed forever and always. Jesus is survived by his wife: Rita Parra-Nieves; His five children: Felisha Nieves, Michael Nieves, Sieanna Nieves, Tyee Nieves, and Javon Nieves; His grandchildren: Milahni Lawrence and Dominic Rivera; His mother: Helen Gonzalez; His siblings: Cristina Nieves,William Ortiz, Beartice Ortiz, and Victor Figueroa; as well as 12 nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday April 20 at 2pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be held at a later date. Calling hours are Saturday prior to the service from 12noon to 2:00pm.
