John J. McGillicuddy, 81, of Westfield, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late John and Mary (Dunleavy) McGillicuddy , was educated in the Holyoke schools, and had lived in Westfield since 1969. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1955 to 1958. John was a truck driver for many years, retiring in 1999, and belonged to Teamsters Local 404. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy L. (Jackimek) McGillicuddy, a son Chad J. McGillicuddy and his wife Sara of East Longmeadow, a daughter Rockne Jacque and her husband Justin of Westfield; eight grandchildren: Julian, Koda, Jax, Jason, Patrick, Timothy, Christina, and Daniel; three nephews: James McGillicuddy and his wife Ellen, John McGillicuddy and Michael McGillicuddy, all of Holyoke, and a Godson Jason E. LeBlanc and wife Kimberly of Holyoke. John was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and James McGillicuddy. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 11th at 8:45 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Committal with United States Army honors will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
