HOLYOKE
John D. Robidoux, age 84, of Holyoke, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Holyoke Health Care Center. He was born in Chicopee, son of the late John M. and Evelyn (St. George) Robidoux, and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. John was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1957 to 1959. He was employed as a machinist for many years at Smith & Wesson in Springfield, retiring in 1997. He lived for many years in South Hadley and Warren, before moving to Holyoke five years ago. John enjoyed golf, photography, 50’s music, and woodworking, as well as spending time at the beach in Maine with his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bella D. (Ross) Robidoux; two daughters: Valerie Dec of Chicopee, and Bella Gaudette and her husband Barry of Elizabethtown, KY; three granddaughters: Cathy Gaudette-Diggs, Amanda Gail Robinson, and Jennifer A. Overby; and five great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by a daughter, Celia Robidoux in 1977. All services for John are private and are being handled by the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
